Good fields greeted the starting line in Tinwald Cycling Clubs, Advance Ashburton, Spray Marks, 48km handicap event around the Grahams Road block on Sunday.
Nick Grijns had a day to remember leading in a large bunch to claim the victory and take home the major spoils.
Grijns and his co-markers pushed hard in the early stages to catch the group in front, then combined well to find the front of the race on the final lap.
Grijns made amends from last week close up third place by timing his charge to the line to perfection to secure the win.
Chris Gilbert who is the big improver in the early stages of the season stormed into second place.
Jelle Hendrikson showed he is working himself back into form with a solid third place.
Paul Brake was again in the thick of the finish securing fourth place.
Duncan Grant and Paul Summerfield rode strongly to fill out the top six positions.
Tour of Southland bound Kyle Gray secured fastest time honours, riding the course in a quick 61.28.
Co-markers Craig Domigan, and Michael Audeau recorded second and third time.
A great field of juniors contested a 16km handicap race.
Blake Broomhall made every post a winner with a great ride to take the chequered flag.
Robbie Lampe pushed him hard to the line to secure the second place spoils.
Emily Best produced a strong sprint finish to take the final podium position.
