Templeton has the final say
Ross Templeton used all his years of experience, timing his sprint to perfection to claim victory in Tinwald Cycling Club’s, RMF Silva, 45km handicap event around the Dawsons Road block on Sunday.
Templeton and his co-markers made solid inroads into the front marks, finding the front of the race inside the final 15km.
With a dozen plus riders having a chance leading into the finish it was Templeton who produced the goods when it counted.
Don Sutton run to the line just came up short but was good enough to secure the second place spoils.
Nick Grijns was in the thick of finish, claiming the final podium position.
Paul Brake will be happy with his days works taking out fourth place.
Roger Wilson and Chris Gilbert rounded out the top six.
Scratch marker Craig Domigan recorded the fastest time, riding the distance in a quick 57.43.
Co-markers Kyle Gray, and Noah Hollamby took second and third time.
The juniors and division 2 contested a 15km handicap event.
It was good day for the Stevenson family with Charlotte Stevenson taking a hard fought victory.
Little brother George Stevenson rode a super race to take second place.
Lennox Parson is another to impress in his first season, taking the third place spoils.
Jack Hooper charged through the field to take fourth place and fastest time honours, riding the course in 24.13.
Eliza McKenzie, and Zac Brookland were hot on his heels filling out the top half dozen.
Teressa Hooper took the major spoils in division 2 with Kenny Johnston, and Liz Wylie taking the remaining podium positions.
Next week the Club will contest a 48km handicap event around the Graham’s Road block.
