Morrison on top
Don Morrison chalked up a hard fought victory in Tinwald Cycling Club’s, Stoked Cycles, Netherby Meats, 48km handicap event around the Wakanui Beach block on Sunday.
The final outcome was decided in the shadow of the finish line with Morrison getting up to claim the major spoils.
Kenny Johnston produced his best performance of the season to secure second place.
Nina Bradford will be pleased with her days work, claiming the final podium position.
Dave Shurrock and Liz Wylie were in the thick of the finish to record fourth and fifth places respectively.
Scratch mark Michael Audeau led the chasing group in to record fastest time honours, riding the distance in 66.47.
Kyle Grey and Thomas Audeau recorded second and third time.
The juniors and division 2 contested a 16km handicap event.
The juniors result was also decided in a group sprint, with Honor Bradford having the final say to lift the silverware.
Louie Audeau made it a good day for Team Audeau, securing the second place spoils.
Ryan Gallagher was hot on his heels in third place.
Charlotte Neal and Isabel Wall filled the top five spots.
Sixth placegetter Jack Gorrie rode the course in 28.26 to lift fastest time honours.
Katherine Gorrie took division 2 bragging rights from Janette Hooper.
Next week the Club travels to Mount Somers to contest a 45km handicap event.
