Reid reaps rewards
Having freshened up from competing in the recent Coast to Coast, Rachel Reid took victory in Tinwald Cycling Clubs, Hinds Seed Cleaning, 49km handicap event at Hinds on Sunday.
Reid’s victory saw her lift the Boomerang Cup, the Club’s oldest cup presented for the hundredth time on the Sunday.
Co-marker Liz Wylie continued her stellar season taking the second place spoils.
Paul Chapman led in the chasing bunch, taking third place in a tight sprint finish.
Matt Ward having his first start charged into fourth place.
Doug Coley pulled out his best ride of the season to claim fifth place, with ever present Paul Williams in sixth.
Scratch marker Kyle Gray secured fastest time honours, riding the distance in 68.35.
Co-markers Tony Ward and Cole Harris recorded second and third time.
The juniors and division 2 contested a 15km handicap event.
Honor Bradford and Leah Reid fought out the finish in a two up sprint.
Honor found the line the strongest to record a good win, with Leah hot on her tail in second place.
Ella Turnbull produced a strong ride to take third place honours.
Sarah Gould and Charlotte Neal, who could not be separated on the line, shared the fourth place spoils.
Fastest time and sixth place went to back marker Flynn Turnbull, who ride the course in 26.47.
Lisa Turnbull took division 2 victory from Kerry Clough, and home town boy Brian Ellis.
Next week the Club will contest a 60km handicap event around the Blackbridge block.
