SCRATCH MARKERS SECURE LAST GASP WIN
The back markers found the front of the race inside the last 600m of Tinwald Cycling Clubs, Robbies Bar and Bistro, White Fox and Jones Lawyers, 45km handicap event around the Dawsons Road block on Sunday.
A bold effort from a breakaway group of front markers came agonisingly close to holding out the charging scratch markers but it wasn’t to be.
Scratch rider Steve Hands found the line the best to claim the victory and fastest time honours covering the distance in 63.31.
Co-marker Tony Ward stormed into second place with junior rider Bailey O’Donnell in the thick of the finish securing third place.
Michael Templeton, Nathan Tew and Myles O’Donnell rounded out the top half dozen.
The juniors and division 2 contested a 15km handicap event.
Ethan Titheridge continued his great form deservedly taking the win and in doing so secured second fastest time honours.
Oliver Davidson claimed second place and third time pushing Ethan right to the line.
Caitlin Titheridge made it a good day for the Titheridge stable taking third place.
Jenna Borthwick and Jessie Banks filled the next two spots, with sole scratch marker Abe O’Donnell coming in sixth and lifting fastest time honours riding the course in 23.38.
Les Brown took division 2 glory seeing to the challenge of Beth Begg.
Jack Templeton claimed the junior development win edging out Emma Begg.
Next week the Club will contest a 48km handicap event around the Grahams Road block.
